To forge a union with a higher purpose

2,291,061 bells tolled for thee

After the intense turning point coming February 17th, 2021, we’ll take off into a uniquely innovative and decidedly different trajectory for our lives because we’ve finally realized the full impact of living as though we have separate interests and separate destinies.

#1 Align yourself with the “get to work” as a global citizen by holding your light high on the Aquarius New Moon February 11, 2021. [11:05 AM PST]

#2 Boldly break new ground by your willingness to experiment with new ideas: Virgo Full Moon, February 27, 2021.

#3 We have enough wind beneath our wings now to lift us up and out of the muddy marshes of the past. Repeat often, “I cause my future.”

We’re gonna need a bigger pair of wings!

Plan to spread your wings like the enormous golden dove of peace shining from Lady Gaga’s inspiring performance of the national anthem on January 20, 2021. It’s time for us to rise above the turmoil of the world--with faith in the goodness of mankind.

Archetypal Astrology is the study of a transcendent language of light. Because the ego can only operate in the dark, archetypal astrology has the happy side effect of bypassing ego and making a beeline for the light. What cued me into the importance of his story was the date it happened, January 13th, 2021, was the first New Moon of the New Year 2021. The first New Moon following the Winter Solstice—the return of light. It is always in the sign of Capricorn—leadership with fairness and integrity.

I found an example of making a beeline for the light in a school teacher named Jacob.

Here’s the story about a star falling to Earth--an archetypal image reflecting the light of Heaven on Earth. It mirrors the astrological energy that sets the stage for 2021.

On January 23rd, 2021, the Apple good news spotlight was shining on 34 year old Jacob Kohut, a music teacher and National Guardsman from Fairfax VA. He was called to duty in Washington DC on January 13th as part of the precautions we now must take to safely inaugurate the President of the United States.

It was Jacob’s choice to do double duty. The news photo shows him sitting in the back of a Humvee in military uniform, a computer propped against the seatback, and both hands holding his flute. He’s teaching a music lesson to  his virtual classroom of elementary school students.

In an interview with the principal of his school, we’re told that Jacob teaches the importance of practice, determination and resilience.

Knowing all that about Jacob, can you guess what song he was teaching his students? Ode to Joy!

For 2021, the watchword is teaching.

Jacob was fulfilling his purpose as a messenger of light and love on Earth, expressing it through his unique talents. That is your purpose too. And mine.

  • The unique expression of your purpose can be found in your Sun sign.

  • Your Moon sign is the way in which you fulfill that purpose.

Integrity was the watchword for Capricorn—the ruling energy of all of 2020. For 2021, the watchword is teaching. We face a test of faith after weathering enormous life challenges.

Here’s the formula for success in 2021:

Wisdom +Intuition = Divine Perception.

Be a bringer of the light by walking the mystical path with practical feet— pausing daily to look up. Their is a benevolent Force more powerful than anything on earth.

Drink the elixir of childlike innocence

We can see that all heroes quests, all shamanic journeys or pilgrimages are seeking the same Holy Grail-- the knowledge that we are all One. We understand that is true when we drink from the holy grail’s elixir, childlike innocence. This is what dissolves demonic ego, which is the same thing as dissolving the belief in separation.

Knowing we are one among many, we return to our true Self— the spirit and light of Love. We are shining that light into the darkness.

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.” Martin Luther King Jr.

A new dawn

People who feel empty inside attach themselves to extreme opinions.

The gift of a fresh start! We engage with trials and tribulations, yet with faith in nature's rejuvenations, we delight in the morning’s dew on a new day.

It echoes from eternity and is heard in the voice of the young Poet Laureate, Amanda Gorman:

From Amanda Gorman, The Hill We Climb:

When day comes we step out of the shade,

aflame and unafraid

The new dawn blooms as we free it

For there is always light,

if only we're brave enough to see it

If only we're brave enough to be it

The Aquarius Sun carries solar-powered goodwill and a great generosity of spirit which is needed for the equitable distribution of justice, kindness and love toward all mankind. We gladly embrace our role as a global citizen.

Understanding, kindness and goodwill-- and a protective vaccine!

Any man's death diminishes me,

Because I am involved in mankind.

And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls;

It tolls for thee.

CAUTION: Mars squares off with Pluto. Expect breakdowns and breakthroughs.

Mars in a battle with Pluto can be a turning point. It is meant to topple the weakened power structures of the patriarchy--antiquated structures built on inequality, greed, and abuse of power: Pluto also has no qualms about hiring a wrecking ball if your walls of resistance are still up. It’s best to surrender to the power of metamorphosis (a conspicuous and relatively abrupt change in form and structure).

  1. The first time they square off in the not Ok Corral will be at 23 degrees August 13th, 2020

  2. And again at 22 degrees October 7th through the 11th, 2020.

  3. The third time will be at 22-23 degrees December 22nd to 24th, 2020.

We will see that what looked like it was working for many many years, was actually rotting from the inside out--at the core. And now it is crumbling.

This is what saves us! The meetup of Lady Luck (Jupiter) and the Monarch Butterfly (Pluto) occurs once every 13 years. Jovial Jupiter and Powerful Pluto meet three times in 2020:

  1.  April 4th, 2020

  2.  June 30th, 2020 (retrograde)

  3.  November 12th, 2020

This retrograde meetup of Generous Jupiter and Alchemical Pluto on November 12, 2020, confers oodles of determination to reach our goals. What they will help us bring into our own lives and into the world is improvement for both the self and for others by drawing on the energy of the higher mind and the higher planes of consciousness through their gift of intense concentration.

We have within us the 20/20 spiritual vision to read and be inspired by the plan and the map of our destiny as it is written in the patterns of the stars.

This ability for intense concentration helps all of us draw upon the power of our Source and the inspiration in our True Reality which is Love. Our Soul’s desires are unveiled. Specifically the gifts are:

  • Spiritual healing through rebirth, regeneration

  • Channeling constructive forces during a crisis

  • Clairvoyance and prophecy through far-seeing objectivity

And remember--Pluto’s realm is regeneration (n.)mid-14c., from Late Latin ( regeneratio) "a being born again." Slowpoke Pluto is still retrograde in Capricorn earth. His laser beam is focused at the critical 22 degrees of the big Shift from August 17th until November 20th, 2020

January 2020 Time’s Up! Really up.

A New 500 year cycle has begun, marked in time by the Saturn + Pluto Conjunction that peaked January 12, 2020. In numerology it is: 1+12+2020=7. Seven is the tarot major arcana card, The Chariot. It’s the archetype for innovative movement forward in consciousness.

On January 12, 2020, Saturn conjoins Pluto at 22° Capricorn for a single, one and only dramatic meetup.

We can expect this initiation into a new global cycle to have an exceptionally powerful effect throughout 2020 {see a timetable below) and approximately two years following it.

This cycle is bound to stimulate significant geopolitical dynamics that will affect the distribution of power in many structures on a global scale. This kind of alignment between Saturn and Pluto are also known to affect natural disasters, particularly seismic and volcanic activity.

We can expect important changes in the natural resources industry, the banking system, and regional and world leadership.

The U.S. birth chart (July 4, 1776) has Pluto in Capricorn, where he is now, guaranteeing a powerful transformational effect on the US economy

One intention of the Saturn–Pluto conjunction is to increase value and empower economic and political systems. However it’s easy to mismanage these influences because they demand high ethical leadership, and without that we face the prospect of economic recession. {see my blog “Trump’s Stars”)

We can expect rebellion on both the individual level (people leaving their workplace, reinventing themselves) and the collective level (worldwide protests demanding change).

Here are the dates for this Parade of Planets:

A momentous Parade of Planets are aligning one behind the other as far as the eye can see--then on and on for 3 billion miles more. Five celestial lights stretching through the heavens like a glistening string of pearls suspended in time.

Jupiter, Sun, Saturn, Pluto, and Mercury are hanging in the zone of the constellation Capricorn. Saturn and Pluto will have an exact pairing at 22 degrees on January 12, 2010.

Once in 500 years the doors of perception open to this particular opportunity to take a quantum leap, a vertical shift in consciousness. Three preceding events help prepare us to welcome the shift from perception to vision--from “seeing” with the body’s eyes to visioning in the light of Spirit:

(1)  Winter Solstice, December 21st [8:20 PM PST], is the day the Sun enters the zodiac sign of Capricorn. We celebrate the return of light. We’ve weathered the longest night of the year, and now the light of day gains ascendance. We’re called to extend our brightening lights into a world too long accustomed to darkness.

(2)  December 25th, 2019, Solar Eclipse New Moon in Capricorn [9:13 PM PST]. This Capricorn Moon meeting with the Capricorn Sun is an alliance that marks the beginning of a crucial new Lunar cycle. It’s the Lunar cycle that will launch a new 500 year cycle. The gift of a Love that dissolves all boundaries, draws us toward brotherhood and sisterhood in a global village. “God bless us everyone.”

(3)  January 10th, 2020, a Lunar Eclipse Full Moon in Cancer [11:21 AM PST]. Envision yourself as the creator, the author of your own life. The Moon in Home-Sweet-Home Cancer is in direct 180 degree opposition to all 5 planets in Capricorn. This brilliant illumination of something you cannot see with the body’s eyes, is a great awakener.

"What we're doing to strangers and other communities right now is far more serious and far more with widespread harm then if we were in the habit of occasionally sending out a group of warriors to rape and pillage their villages." Yet we're causing a perceptible harm at a distance by the release of carbon dioxide which is a completely new form of harm. So we lack any kind of instinctive inhibitions or emotional response against causing it. We have trouble seeing it as harm at all." Peter Singer

(4) January 12th, 2020: Sheriff Saturn meets up with Powerful Pluto in a shared revelation of the truth. Their spotlight is on Integrity, fairness, the right use of power and telling the truth. The Full Moon Lunar Eclipse January 10th casts a bigger shadow in which those threatened by the truth might escalate their abuses in a desperate attempt to hold onto their power.

Dates of Previous Saturn–Pluto Conjunctions:

[Not in Capricorn]

  1. October 5, 1914 at 2° Cancer (recurrence on May 20, 1915)

  2. August 11, 1947 at 13° Leo

  3. November 8, 1982 at 27° Libra

1. Looking back at previous cycles, we can see that a Saturn–Pluto conjunction occurred October 1914, around the outbreak of World War I. This global conflict reshuffled power dynamics by dissolving the Russian monarchy, the Ottoman Empire, and the Austro-Hungarian Empire, which led to the redrawing of national borders within Europe.

2. The next Saturn–Pluto cycle commenced in 1947 in Leo, soon after World War II ended; Germany and Japan lost military influence and dominance, and the power struggle between Capitalism and Communism gained greater intensity. (Saturn and Pluto were in opposition in 1966, when the Vietnam War peaked, accentuating the division between the two blocs.) In 1947, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), whose aim is to foster global economic growth and reduce world poverty, began its operations.

The year 1947 also saw the division between India and Pakistan and their establishment as individual sovereignties (today both countries have nuclear weapons); this split cost Mohandas Gandhi his life.

In the Middle East, Israel gained independence from the British in 1948, creating an incredibly complex power dynamic in the region, with the return of the Jews’ spiritual influence in the markedly Arab-dominated region. While Israel possesses few natural resources (no oil in an oil-dominated region), the historical significance and spiritual power of the land are perhaps the reason for ongoing battles in the region, essentially for control of the holy city of Jerusalem.

Dates of Previous Saturn–Pluto Oppositions

  1. February 17, 1931 – December 13, 1931 at 19°–21° Capricorn–Cancer (conjunct their respective North and South Nodes)

  2. April 23, 1965 – February 20, 1966 at 14°–17° Pisces–Virgo

  3. August 5, 2001 – May 26, 2002 at 12°–16° Gemini–Sagittarius (conjunct the lunar nodes

In 1931, Saturn and Pluto formed an opposition in Capricorn and Cancer, defining an era that included the Great Depression, which started in October 1929, and also the Geneva Convention relative to the ethical treatment of prisoners of war, which entered into effect in July 1931.

Key Dates of the New 500-yr. Shift

On December 25, 2019, a great generosity of spirit joined with a flawless moral compass to open the doors of perception to a new light-- the gift of 2020 vision. Rising over the snow capped peaks of Capricorn’s mountaintops was a Solar Eclipse, New Moon. A belly laugh from Jovial Jupiter, the archetype of Santa Claus, helped us be quick to forgive, ready to love without limits.

January 10, 2020:  There is a Lunar Eclipse Full Moon in Home-Sweet-Home Cancer. Meaning, the Sun in earthy Capricorn is 180 degrees opposite the Moon in Cancer.

January 12, 2020: The Really Big Show. Sheriff Saturn meets up side by side with Powerful Pluto in the sign of the Mountain Goat, Capricorn for the 1st time in 500-years.

April 5, 2020: Jovial Jupiter & Transformational Pluto meet to begin a new cycle. Fortunate Opportunities to shed the old skin, to shirk off the too tight shell, will be easy to do. Almost effortless. (This conjunction recurs on June 30.)

August – December 2020: Forward Ho! Warrior Mars moves through his home sign of fiery Aries. While there, he’ll have a retrograde period still in fiery pioneering Aries:

June 27th, 2020, Warrior Mars is his home sign of fiery Aries and is so happy kicking butts into action that he decides to stay! All the way through a retrograde phase, keeping him in pioneering Aries until January 6th, 2021.

That sense of urgency and rebellion leads us into self-examination as all 5 outer planets are retrograde beginning August 14th 2020.

September 9, 2020: Mars turns retrograde at 28° Aries.

November 13, 2020: Mars turns direct at 15° Aries at the same time that the final Jupiter–Pluto conjunction occurs at the same place of the critical turning point [22° Capricorn] of the big shift in January.

From Perception to 2020 Vision

The Shift is on—you!

The winter solstice December 21, 2019 marked the Sun’s entrance into Capricorn and the return of light. We have had our longest night, and we emerge on the other side extending our bright lights into a world reborn in Love.

Within you is the microcosm, and the world stage is the macrocosm. They mirror each other. Use these questions to create your own personal understanding of the shift inside you:

Thinking about the timeline of your life from December 2017 to January 2020, can you name your own personal tipping points?

1. When were you aware that a metamorphosis was happening within yourself? Do you remember when the moment when the urge to spin the chrysalis arrived? It was the moment you felt “called” to enter into something unknown and perhaps dark.

2. Were there times when you resisted, when you were a hesitant caterpillar? Afraid to spin yourself into the dark unknown of a cocoon?

3. What fears trigger hesitation in you now? (It can seem so much easier to hold onto the old self you know so well.)

4. There are moments in your metamorphosis when the veil of illusion thins. When did the light start shining through the withering cocoon.

5. What is the right use of your personal power?

6. What next step does the hero/heroine in you want to take in 2020?

July 2019

We start a new Lunar cycle this Tuesday, July 2nd, with a Solar Eclipse, a New Moon in the water sign of Cancer.

You'll have to be on a boat in the remote South Pacific Oceans to see a total eclipse, but you’ll be happy with the beautiful ring the Sun’s rays with make around the Moon when she swims between the Earth and the Sun-- July 2nd at 12:16 PM. Pacific Daylight Time.

Your Lunar Sonar has never been stronger.

Cancer Moonbeams smell like memories of just baked chocolate chip cookies. From dinner time Monday July 1st to the evening of Wednesday, July 3rd, our nurturing instincts are aroused along with a heightened sensitivity to the moods of people around you.

Relationships stay on the sweet tooth side because just as the Moon leaves cancer July 3rd, Venus the goddess of love moves in. The party is on!

Your gonna need bigger fireworks!

Venus  in cancer will add loving sparkle to our relationships with family and close friends for the next 3 weeks--to July 27th.

There couldn't be a happier and more harmoniously resonant astrological lineup for a Fourth of July picnic than this one.

But we're also going to have to do a little soul-searching Wednesday when the stars invite us to see the folly of family feuds and to raise our love vibes to the level of unconditional acceptance ... even of Aunt Isabel’s imitation crab salad with pickled herring.

This week’s Cancer eclipse is the preview of the much bigger eclipse in the sign of Cancer that is coming in January 2020. Both events are marked by the opposition of the Cancer Moon to Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn. What might this mean for you?

Cancer Moon’s focus on family will challenge Capricorn’s lonely-at-the-top executive to integrate inner and outer ambitions. Perhaps their integration means -- work from home!

The squared off angles of watery Cancer to Libra’s air and Aries’ fire begs the question: Is victory through diplomacy possible?

The Cancer Moon and Sun put a stress on Libra’s desire to have peace by intellectual reasoning-- cooperation through diplomacy. On the other hand...

Cancer’s big sensitive feelings leave the fiery Aries warrior with a clenched fist and suppressed rage. All the stuff ulcers are made of!

Aries’ desire to confront a problem head on, to take immediate action, is thwarted

by Cancer’s home-and-hearth heartfelt desire for serenity.

The fiery Aries Warrior would ordinarily want to aggressively Trail Blaze his way through the thicket of obstacles. But Aries is stressed by Capricorn’s objective view from the mountain top. An Aries Warrior would rather chop through the trees without worrying about the whole friggin' forest!

Note: Did you notice that on June 22nd we did get a little surprise as I predicted, when Mars the Warrior was finishing up his opposition to powerful Pluto. Did you see these headlines? NUKE SENSORS DETECT ASTEROID EXPLOSION: On June 22nd, sensors operated by the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty Organization detected an explosion south of Puerto Rico. It was not, however, a nuclear bomb. A small asteroid entered Earth's atmosphere and exploded in the air like 3 to 5 kilotons of TNT.

It got my attention. If I'd been reading the bad news, and I do check those headlines, I might have been fearful that some idiot in authority somewhere in the world would launch a deadly missile. Instead, we got a harmless explosion from outer space.

From June 26th to July 18th Messenger Mercury will travel in the courageous and fiercely loyal fires of Leo.

Sunday, July 7th, Mercury in Leo goes retrograde: the Leo lioness will be languidly pacing herself from July 7th - 31st.

This ignites an inside job--a fierce hunt for fact checking the genuineness and originality in the way we're going after what we want. Being restless and fast-paced planet, Mercury will take us on a journey to retrace our steps back to June 20th.

Meaning that the messenger planet will have a laser beam focus on Leo’s lessons of loyalty-creativity-family-children-romance. He’ll be pacing back and forth in a narrow passageway, confined between 1 and 4 degrees Leo, from June 30th to July 18th. Intense!

The good news: Thinking and communicating will find a fixed purpose. And the Lioness will throw in a strong dose of willfulness to launch us into action. This is a creative opportunity for focused concentration on your one main goal.

Authorship of your life is supported by this fiery lioness who adds some drama and force to your communications.

Because Mercury will be in retrograde, this is an inner Journey. An opportunity to hunt down within yourself the place where you can carry things too far and act from pride and arrogance. We are very likely to see the same communication styles manifest archetypally on the world stage.

Your Astrology Weather Forecast for May 20-26, 2019

What’s happening now hasn't happened in 500 years. It’s the end of an old order-- for example the divine right of kings-- and a rebirth of a spiritual way of life that is within-- where we are the author. -- instead of being led by an outer authority, such as  in the heady religious dogma coming from without.

Since 2008, when Pluto orbited into the constellation Capricornus (Latin for horned goat), the ground beneath us began to rumble. Since Saturn joined Pluto in Capricorn December 2017, it’s felt like we’ve had an unrelenting series of massive volcanic eruptions.

The landscape of our world has changed forever. It cannot go back to what it was before. And I’m going to tell you why that’s Good News!

The stress we feel is because some of us have continued using the same old map, and have gotten quite lost. Others of  took a deep breath and started the business of measuring the new topography and redrawing the map. Most of us have ping ponged back and forth between these two reactions. For all of us, this chaos has been disorienting on the ego-driven physical plane. And a welcomed new order of heart-centered compassion for the suffering in the world.

It’s the approaching meetup of [Letter-of-the-law] Sheriff Saturn & [Unrelenting] Powerful Pluto. It will be exact at the end of this year-- creating momentous events for the start of 2020.

The Paradox is that we can see it coming from far away because we have the objectivity of the mountain goat standing at the top of K2, however the Earth is still rumbling which takes away the sense of security the mountain goat ordinarily has.

With Saturn and Pluto joining forces as they are doing now, and haven’t done since 1519, it guarantees the structure of our lives are drastically changing.

However, our 2019 version has a different ingredient that wasn’t there 500 years ago.

Thunder and Lightning!

Uranus the god of lightning joined in on March 6th, 2019, when he entered Taurus earth. He’s adding a sense of urgency to his revolutionary wake up calls. We’ll feel them beneath our feet-- as though a storm is rumbling deep inside the earth.

The trio of Pluto-Saturn-Uranus has the effect of restricting our resources, making less available, and therefore “forcing” us to do more with less by narrowing our focus and concentrating our energies on measurable, achievable goals. This is good news! This is how you change the world!

This week they are both retrograde-- an inner journey for us. And limiting the space for decision making. This is extremely uncomfortable for anyone sitting on the fence. Possibilities are not endless. They are few, but achieving those few are all that is needed.

As usual, there are two versions of this story. One being written by ego, and another by spirit-- our true selves.

Ego’s version: Ruthless determination to gain control of others in order to glean power for oneself.

That’s rigid adherence to outworn laws and mores meeting up with a powerful compulsion and an obsessive adherence to rules, without the benefit of reason. Key word: Ruthless

Your Astrology Weather Forecast for March 25-31, 2019

It's 1st week of spring, which began when the Sun moved into the zodiac sign of Aries. This fire sign lights the olympic torch you carry as a leader and trailblazer.

The Aries Sun we'll meet up with a waning Capricorn Moon to form the last quarter square this Wednesday March 27th. That’s fire meeting earth-- an inherently incompatible combination of elements. Careful that your need for success isn’t smothering the fires of your intuition.

This makes it a particularly significant 3rd Quarter Moon because it’s in its home sign, Capricorn.

Capricorn is ruled by Sheriff Saturn who sits there now, setting up more and more sobriety checkpoints. He's not so much checking for drugs and alcohol, although that's part of it, rather he's narrowing our focus and spotlighting the places where we might have strayed from our authentic path.

This Moon brings a close look, upfront and personal, at our conduct and whether or not we are acting with integrity and fairness in the world.

From your daydreams, visualisations and vivid imagination, you’re given 3 opportunities for answers through epiphanies and heightened clairvoyance:

  1. Messenger Mercury first met Visionary Neptune on February 18th, 2019.

  2. Mercury retrograde met Neptune last Sunday, March 24th.

  3. Their Grand Finale, The unveiling of prophecies, is this Tuesday April 2nd when Mercury and the Moon in Pisces join with Visionary Neptune.

Your thoughts and ideas align with your visions to give your communications a metaphorical and poetic quality. You’re going to feel so inspired!

On the same day, Tuesday April 2nd, the Moon in Pisces will trigger an even more potent power within you for clairvoyance and picture making in your mind-- with or without a camera.

Your Astrology Weather Forecast for March 18-24, 2019

Rather than having to beware the Ides of March, this year it is inviting us to experience joy and peaceful acceptance in our relationships.

This week has a powerful peak of energy on Wednesday, March 20th, 2019.

1. A few hours before dawn Warrior Mars in the sign of Taurus makes a harmonious working relationship with powerful Pluto in the earth sign of Capricorn. Usually they are like an iron fist against a cement wall. Neither intends to compromise.

This week it's different. Find the place in your life where your heels are dug in and you have already made up your mind and are sticking stubbornly to it. Our most intimate relationships are the battleground for these energies.

It's not about giving in-- its about forgiving. Power struggles in find secure footing for a meaningful compromise if you trust your hunches, if you trust your intuition.

2. Mid afternoon the Sun goes into Aries fire for the Spring Equinox and the New Year in western Astrology.

3. Thus the stage is set for the first of two Full Moons in Libra at 6:43 PM PDT.  The second Libra full moon comes 30 days later on April 19th.

All this in one day! And it’s Wednesday, Mercury’s day for delivering messages however ...

We continue feeling our way toward Davy Jones Locker, our own buried treasure, while the messenger planet Mercury is seriously retrograde and under water in Pisces oceans-- this energy encourages us to pick up speed as we are swimming rapidly toward a meetup Sunday with the the big titan with a pitchfork-- visionary Neptune.

From your daydreams visualisations and vivid imagination --answers come 3 times:

  1. Mercury first met visionary Neptune on February 18th, 2019.

  2. This week Mercury retrograde meets Neptune this Sunday, March 24th.

  3. Their Grand Finale,  when they unveil prophecies for the future, will come April 2nd.

“Even after all this time

the sun never says to the earth

“You owe me”

Look what happens with a love like that,

It lights the whole sky..”
